The fitness model I use is rooted in functional movement. Functional fitness uses movement patterns that are useful for the actions of everyday life -- but is designed so those movements can be executed as efficiently and as safely as possible. Examples of this can be simple [bending to pick up a pen off the floor, picking one's own body off the floor, carrying a weighted object with postural stability] or complex [quick directional changes when balance is altered, running for the bus or from danger, jumping over obstacles]. The exercises used will be varied and are often body-weight centered, though I do include resistance bands and other readily mobile tools in training. Though body composition will likely change over time with regular practice, it is encouraged to focus on how the body feels. The goal is improved mobility, flexibility, and range of motion, as well as increased strength and cardiorespiratory performance. I look forward to facilitating the process of you realizing and unlocking your movement potential.
